Farline escreveu “Running Blind” no início dos anos 90, depois deixou-o adormecido por mais de três décadas antes de finalmente terminá-lo após a reunião da banda. Ironicamente, o tema da música sobre não ser capaz de fugir do passado parece muito adequado à própria jornada da música, algo que finalmente retorna e obriga a ser resolvido.

“você não pode fugir do seu passado, todas as memórias voltam tão rápido” Portanto, toda a história é sobre alguém que continua tentando escapar da culpa, mas sempre falha.

A guitarra e o ritmo urgentes que continuam avançando fazem com que essa música pareça uma trilha sonora de perseguição, encaixando-se no gênero clássico do hard rock que tem sido a identidade de Farline desde o início.

“Sinta a raiva interior e a dor que você causou, dê outra tragada, para que isso possa passar” é uma linha bastante sombria, implicando alguém tentando atenuar sua culpa de uma forma que na verdade piora as coisas.

O próprio Farline disse que o passado deles não estava realmente acabado, e “Running Blind” é uma prova clara dessa frase. Músicas que antes eram escritas por jovens agora são cantadas por pessoas que passaram por muita coisa e, por algum motivo, isso torna a história mais pesada.
